The player returns from a week-long camping trip to find the dead have risen and must establish a group of survivors to endure the zombie apocalypse. State of Decay is an open world Zombie Apocalypse survival simulator and the first game from developer Undead Labs, founded by Jeff Strain (aka lead designer of World of Warcraft.) Released on XBLA on June 5th, 2013 and released on the PC on September 20th the same year, State of Decay is set in the rural Trumbull Valley: 16 square kilometers of farmland, forests, and small towns.
